We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Vertical Wine Collective — a first-of-its-kind wine bar and retail experience opening July in Downtown Edmonds, WA. Our mission? To reimagine the way people, discover, sip, and share wine — starting with the box.
Vertical Wine Collective is the only wine bar and retail experience in Washington state focused exclusively on boxed wines. We believe the format is more than just convenient — it’s the future of wine when done right. And that’s why we’re partnering with producers who are crafting high-quality, intentional wines with sustainability and transparency at the core.
One of those producers? The brilliant team behind Giovese Family Wines — and we couldn’t be more excited to feature them on day one.
Why Boxed? And Why Now?
At Vertical Wine Collective, we’re building a space for the wine drinker who cares about what’s in the glass — not the shape of the bottle. Boxed wine offers real benefits:

Producer Spotlight: Giovese Family Wines 🇮🇹📦
Giovese Family Wines are not your average boxed wines. Born from Italian heritage and bold storytelling, it brings a refreshing attitude and serious winemaking to the category. It’s fun, unfiltered, and full of life — the kind of wine that reflects the ethos of both the producer and the people who drink it.
We knew from the beginning that Sandy Giovese Vino Rosso needed to be part of our launch lineup. The balance of personality and purity in the wine makes it a crowd-pleaser, but it’s also got depth — just like the team behind it.
“Sandy Giovese was our first wine. After living in Tuscany for many years, and then working as a wine importer for two decades, I would joke that Sandy Giovese, a play on the name of one of Italy’s most important red grapes, Sangiovese, was my alterego. Then, in 2019, inspired by all the stats about the eco-friendliness of boxed wine and the convenience of the package, I decided that moniker would make a perfect brand. So, I contacted dozens of contacts across central Italy to find the perfect Sangiovese, and we connected with Conti degli Azzoni in the Le Marche region, who sent us a pure, juicy Sangiovese made from organically farmed grapes. We then perfected our blend, which included 13% Trebbiano, a while grape, in order to focus the wine on its pure cherry-fruited core, smooth out the tannins, and make a red that could be drunk chilled. It’s totally hipster wine and one of the first of its kind in a 3L box.
While we are thrilled to promote the unbeatably low environmental impact of boxed wine, ultimately the most important thing was to put an utterly – and consistently – delicious wine in a box that would change hearts and minds and convince conscientious consumers that there was a boxed wine that would satisfy selective, refined pallets.
Folks like Vertical Wine Collective are essential to getting the word out. The dedication to alternative packaging combined with unwavering commitment to quality is remarkable in a world clinging to glass packaging. The opening of a wine bar dedicated to these wines is an awesome initiative and I hope it will set a standard for other wine bars in the future. Tasting is believing!”

A Wine Bar Built for the Future
