Which Boxed Wine is the Best? USA Today Wants You to Vote — and We’re Here for It.

We’ve been saying it for a while now—boxed wine is having a moment. And now, USA Today is putting the spotlight on the category with its 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Boxed Wine. From iconic names like Bota Box and Black Box to up-and-coming indie labels, the list features brands that are helping redefine what wine drinkers should expect from a box.

At Vertical Wine Collective, we’re proud to be part of this shift. We’re opening soon in Downtown Edmonds, and we’re building Washington’s first boxed wine bar and retail experience—a bold response to one of the wine industry’s biggest problems: waste.

Traditional wine packaging (glass bottles, corks, capsules) comes with a hefty environmental footprint. Boxed wine, on the other hand, is lighter to ship, stays fresh longer, and uses dramatically less material—without compromising quality. In fact, many of the wines featured on the USA Today list are crafted by renowned winemakers who have simply chosen a smarter, more sustainable format.

We’ve curated a lineup of boxed wines that are anything but basic. From juicy reds to mineral-driven whites and crisp, crushable rosés—many of the brands on USA Today's list are already in our collection or soon will be.
